How Much Fabric do I Need For….
There are secrets to finding designer fabrics for budget prices. The internet is the perfect place to start. What do you think happens with all that extra yardage after an interior designer is finished a project? It’s out there, and you can find it.
But how do you know how much to buy? To figure out just how much upholstery fabric you need to have that sofa reupholstered, or how much fabric you need for the loveseat, use the following cheat sheet:
Width
Most upholstery fabric is 54 inches wide, there are some odd widths that can go up to 62". Fabric for draperies is normally less than 54" so be careful on the width. Buying your fabric is by the running yard, so 1 yard in length and 54" in width is a 1 yard by 1-1/2 yard piece of fabric.

A wing chair will require 5-7 yards, a traditional chair with upholstered seat and back 3 yards and a club chair 5-6 yards.
